summer sickness

It takes someone with real skill to get a cold on a 43 degree day.

Yep, I've spent the last 3-4 days downing cough syrup, inhaling Vicks (hah) like it's a drug; I've gone through 2 boxes of tissues, 4L of juice in one day, a strip of Panadol tablets, chicken soup, Milo, whatever warms up my throat.

And no, it was not the overnight change from 43 and scorching to 26 and raining. That happened on Monday night, I woke up Monday morning with this cold. Damn, I can't blame this lame, unpredictable weather for my sickness. My guess is that it was some combination of my fan and the aircon while I slept that caused me to wake up with a blocked nose.

You know how it starts off. Well, for me it's always the same pattern. Day 1-2 usually involves the whole blocked/runny nose saga. I didn't get to sleep until 6am Tuesday morning because my nose was running like crazy. Gross, I know - it'd just drip everytime I laid down. I then spent Tuesday blowing my nose and with a mucus-infested throat. 'The middle bit', I'd call it - that stage in your sickness when you have BOTH. Not a very plesant few days. Wednesday, I felt a tad better. My nose had cleared up significantly over the past 2 days and I was mostly down to coughing out phlegm. Presently, Thursday morning, I'm feeling a good recovery coming on. I'm down to a dry cough but my stomach hurts from all the coughing/nose-blowing over the past few days :(

Story of my life, hah. Meaning, I haven't done much over the past few days. I have a hairstyle I want to try out though, when I'm not feeling all icky and dirty (I HAVE been showering, just getting that gross feeling from being sick) and I'll probably play around with my deco stuff. Oh, and I have a new Hello Kitty calendar which is just DYING to have stickers put on it! Hello Kitty stickers that is, you know, to mark the important dates and stuff. And I should probably get myself together for Uni, even if there's 6 weeks to go. Ooh .. lots to do.

Toodles.
