count-down
Sydney in 10 days. Nine, tomorrow, which is about 2.5 hours away.
I love that feeling the night before you go somewhere or something good happens, where you're so excited you can't sleep :)
And this time, I'm feeling accomplished, more so than my past trips. I know it's nothing big. BUT, I was only able to go to Melbourne last year because of my Rudd Dollars aka the Government stimulus package of $1000. I was only able to go to Sydney 5 months ago because I worked at the Adelaide Show the week before I left, earning myself a handy $450, which was paid into my bank account 3 days before I left. Oh, and an extra $500 provided by my mother.
THIS TIME AROUND, I've 'saved'. Which is a HARD THING FOR ME TO DO! I had to open up a second bank account and have money automatically transfer each week. I got a job, which earns me a bit more dosh. I had to limit the time I spent shopping because I knew I'd buy unnecessary items, such as $140 sneakers!
But now, down to the final week or so, after 3 months of saving I'm feeling pretty proud of myself :) Should have at least a grand to spend on food & shopping (considering it's Sydney, I'll probably only spend half and still come back with a full luggage) and not including accommodation and flights, which has already been covered.
LOOKING FORWARD TO IT! :D
Giving myself a much-deserved break from Adelaide and basically the people around me and indulging in the sights, sounds and delights of Sydney.
I'll be back for just over a week when I jet off to Melbourne. Nothing special, I don't intend to shop - getting it all out of the way in Sydney! TBH, I don't enjoy shopping in Melbourne :( But I'll be with friends and there's still a heap of ways to entertain ourselves ;)
Yup. Getting away from Adelaide before uni. Then *bam* it's heads down for the next 4-months, then I'll start planning my next getaway.
- end rambling -
Toodles.
